Had a lovely evening @barsebek in Fukuoka – a small, quiet bar hidden in the backstreets of Nakasu. It’s an intimate space, with just a few seats and a calm, welcoming atmosphere where every detail feels considered. The bar is run by Makiko Otsu, a skilled bartender with a thoughtful approach to her craft. I had her signature cocktail, the Tourbillon – a delicate mix of cognac, black tea, and rose syrup. It’s a layered, aromatic drink with a soft, elegant finish. A peaceful spot for anyone who appreciates a well-made cocktail without the fuss.

Two nights at Yakoboku—and I’d go again.
Spent the last two evenings at Yakoboku in Kumamoto, and it’s easy to see why it made Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. The cozy atmosphere, great conversations, and carefully crafted drinks kept me coming back. Their Shochu Bamboo cocktail was a personal favorite—smooth, deep, and full of character. You can really taste the passion behind every drink. After two visits, I still feel like there’s more to discover. If you’re in Kumamoto and appreciate a well-made cocktail, this place is a must. New menu in April! Thank you for this great experience.
